I gave up on finding a companion a couple years back. I've been rolling along in life working hard, taking care of my family and nurturing what I hope will soon be a fruitful business. Time passed and I never looked up to realized that I've been single for much longer than expected! Oh well I have plenty of "important" things to keep me busy; no worries right? WRONG!
Note: Humans require verbal interaction and touch from others to live a complete life; living without will make them cold and distant. Needless to say I became someone I could not recognize until I began to thaw out...
During a rare moment of watching an award show (2010) I listened to Trey Songz accept an award while sincerely and adoringly thanking his mom for always supporting him no matter what. Prior to seeing this, I never gave his music a second thought. Something about Trey praising his mother touched my spirit so I decided to give his music a listen.
Surprisingly I discovered how talented Trey is as a complete artist. I came across several soul stirring songs on his Ready album: "You Belong to Me", "One Love" and Yo Side of the Bed" just to name a few. I still aggravate everyone keeping this cd on repeat! I was most impressed with Trey's awesome ability to write passionately creating songs that touch souls.
I anxiously waited for the release of Passion, Pain & Pleasure and Trey did not disappoint. My absolute favorite song... "Massage" hands down but I love every song on this cd! This album made me realize just how cold I was becoming without companionship. Trey's words and music awakened my soul and made falling in love seem like a beautiful experience. He has forced me to forget painful memories and open my heart and mind to love.
After Ready and Passion, Pain & Pleasure, I bought Trey Day and Anticipation. Both compilations hold their own but I am glad I started with the well-developed Trey Songz because the experience allowed me to enjoy his earlier creations.
Heck, I even downloaded his mix tape LemmeHoldatBeat because I am a loyal and passion supporter and if he wants to explore other expressions of music, it's cool by me. I listened and I cringed...soft spoken, kindhearted, sensual Trey is very different from Trigga. Whoah! I still support whatever Trey wants to create but once again I am glad I fell in love with Trey's music before discovering Trigga.
I am becoming increasingly frustrated with what the music industry has to offer. Treyis was an artist I could always count on to satisfy my love affair with music. Lately I feel as though Trey Songz is slipping away and Trigga is taking over. We can't afford to "lose" another great artist so this is my plea for Trey to make sure he either maintains both personalities or that he drops Trigga to live and create as he was born to do as TREY SONGZ!
